$\displaystyle{\left({f{+}}{g}\right)}{\left({x}\right)}={f{{\left({x}\right)}}}+{g{{\left({x}\right)}}}={\left({5}{x}+{1}\right)}+{\left({2}{x}\right)}\usepackage{cmbright}\Huge\$

Now combine like terms.
