You may have thought that because the function $\displaystyle{f{{\left({x}\right)}}}=-\sqrt{{x}}\usepackage{cmbright}\Huge\$ does the opposite of what $\displaystyle{f{{\left({x}\right)}}}=-{{x}}^{{2}}\usepackage{cmbright}\Huge\$ does, its graph would be a parabola opening up. However, this function is only defined for values of $\displaystyle{x}\ge{0}\usepackage{cmbright}\Huge\$ , so the graph will not have any points to the left of the y-axis. Also, there will be no positive outputs, because $\displaystyle-\sqrt{{x}}\usepackage{cmbright}\Huge\$ is defined to be the negative square root. So the graph will not have any points above the x-axis.
